This past Sunday I began a new preaching series on worship. This will involve taking a brief respite from our usual study through the book of Matthew to which we will return following the worship series. This past Sunday, the focus of the sermon was that our worship is directed to God, as we see modeled in the heavenly throne room in Revelation 4. The implications of this on the church will see us foregoing many of our preferences for worship styles in favor of bowing our hearts to the only being worthy of worship.

This week, we will be focusing on John 4:1-42 where Jesus encounters the woman at the well. I want to encourage you to read through the passage as many times as you can stand it. Study it. Formulate questions about the passage. Investigate the answers. I would also encourage you, if you missed this past Sunday, to go back and listen to the sermon (click here to listen). The series will build on the previous weeks (as usual), so staying up-to-date with us will be beneficial for you.

Join me in praying for the worship at EBC on Sunday mornings. Pray that our hearts would be inclined toward God and his word. Pray that all of us would be united in our desire to worship God truly and for the worship of God to increase across our city.
