Equip Yourself:
With parenting and family life in mind and speaking for myself, too often I am ill-prepared to meet the daily challenges that arise because of a lack of prayer and attentiveness God's word. Lately, I am reading Overcoming Sin and Temptation by John Owen with a friend, and the biblical challenges and reasoning therein have been convicting and helpful. Consider this quote, how you might think of these things in the context of your family, and make use of God's daily means of grace and resources available to you in your own life and family:

"Let this be one part of our daily contending with God - that he would preserve our souls, and keep our hearts and our ways, that we be not entangled; this his good and wise providence will order our ways and affairs, that no pressing temptation befall us; that he would give us diligence, carefulness, and watchfulness over our own ways."
