Look back:  Read back over 1 Samuel 10:17-27 and remember God’s people are dependent on him for all things, and they are expected to submit to his authority on all matters.

Look ahead: This coming Sunday, Pastor Michael will be preaching from 1 Samuel 11. Read the passage several times during the week with your family.

Ask: What threat were the people facing? How did God deliver them?

Pray: Adoration: Praise God for his power and holiness. Confession: Confess any sin the passage brings to mind, perhaps failing to trust the Lord.  Thanksgiving: Give thanks for God delivering us from the dominion of darkenss and bringing us into the kingdom of his. beloved Son.  Supplication: Pray for God's help and wisdom for any difficult situations you and your family are facing.

What is the law of God stated in the Ten Commandments?
A: You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony. You shall not covet.

From Sunday School October 16:

CHRIST CONNECTION

This is the big idea of how this week’s Bible story points to Jesus.

  • Younger Preschool: God sent Isaiah to warn the people of Judah. A day is coming when God will judge sin one last time. Everyone who repents of sin and trusts in Jesus will be safe from judgment.
  • Kids: God sent Isaiah to warn of His coming judgment. A greater day of judgment is coming when God will judge sin for a final time. Jesus came to die on the cross and rise again. Everyone who repents of sin and trusts in Jesus will be safe from God’s judgment and have eternal life.

BIG PICTURE QUESTION & ANSWER
